Just to let you know

I've been working on version 1.3 of the news script. For anyone who expected to have a multi-user system as I wrote in its roadmap before, too bad, I lied. I'll be focused on making it for personal use only.

Some new features which have been implemented so far are locking posts and custom publishing date. The spell checker is work in progress, though. The final bit I want to implement is making the links search engine friendly, e.g. "2006/7/my-post/" instead of "?post=1234".

Also I've found this spell checker, but for some reasons, I don't like it.

  2. Excellent update, can't wait to try out the new version!

Can I suggest one addition, the ability to use HTML code when creating posts? If its possible at all then that would be fantastic, if not then looks like I'll have to stick with BB Code :o

p.s. This may be me being really stupid.. but how can I download the posts if I want to change the directory of news? FTP gives me an error and changing permissions doesn't help :( (It probably is just me though lol)

As meepy said, enclose the HTML code in the [raw] tags

Good point there. I'll probably add my RSS feed to the main page.

  6. Forgot christopher's question about backing up the posts.

Copy your 'data' folder to the new news directory. CHMOD its files and folders as for new installation. Besides, CHMOD all files in its subdirectories, e.g. 'posts/', 'comments/', etc. to 666.

    Done.
