  1. I recently installed GC for th first time, v. 2.3. I noticed that after some time my Google Reader page is logged out. It happens 3 to 5 times a day. Yesterday I disabled the extension and these log-outs stopped. Please fix this, the extension is great otherwise. If you need more info, let me know.

  2. Good extension, but on FF 4.0b7pre in the navigation bar icon disappears. There is no option for gmail "Write new message"

  3. I've downloaded it, now what? Nothing happens. How do I start it? Mozilla Firefox has already re-started and I see no means of using this add on. How do I get it to start running?

  4. Congratulations!!!!
I get the add-on and i am much happy!

God, bless the Mozzila and partners.

  5. Iren, your Google Reader account is probably different from the Gmail account you have opened on the browser. The extension can only open a Gmail and a Google App account on the browser at the same time.

Paulus, the extension works fine on b7pre. Try reinstalling it to see if that fixes your problem.
The extension won't have an option to compose a message because it's a mail checker.

  6. NT, no, the account is the same. I checked that in the first place. Is there a log file to view?

  9. I tested this bug for some time and here's an update. If the GC just checks the account, there's no problem. But as soon as I use links to new messages or click 'Open mailbox', other Google sessions turn out finished. Please analyze the difference between checking for the new mail and these links and maybe you'll find the problem.

  10. This seems the suggested venue for a bug report.. Sorry if it isn't. LOVE the extension, it's the best one i've seen.

For me it is ignoring the "notify the same new message once only" setting -- i'm getting a desktop notification for the same message over & over, every time mail gets checked. Known issue? (GC v2.3, FF3.6.10)

    by jim on Friday, 8 October 2010, 12:25 a.m. #
  11. Iren, I didn't experience your problem with Google Reader. Try clearing all cookies and then use the extension to open the mailbox and then open Google Reader instead of manually logging into Google Reader. That will probably solve the problem.

Jim, 'notify once' only applies to sound notification. In the next release, I'll make it apply to popup notification as well.

  12. Why is there a restriction on the number of mail shown per account ?
For all account, if no label are shown I can only see 20 new mail
    by Fredo on Friday, 8 October 2010, 02:23 p.m. #
  13. Fredo, it's a limitation of Gmail's atom feeds.
    by NT on Friday, 8 October 2010, 05:07 p.m. #
  14. Thanks for the answer : but could it be possible to have the real number of mail, even if we have that limitation for the snippet.

Nice addons. I hope you could use the french localisation file I send you.

  15. Hello!
I've found small issue in the addon - I can't change the order of accounts in menu. I'm dragging them in "Manage accounts", but nothing happens.
Everything else is working great. Thank you!
    by Dmitry on Monday, 11 October 2010, 09:27 a.m. #
  16. Fredo, the extension uses Gmail atom feeds so the mail counter depends on the number of messages in the feeds as well. Thanks a lot for the translation by the way.

Dmitry, the order only takes effect when you open a new window (Ctrl+N) or when Firefox restarts.
    by NT on Friday, 15 October 2010, 12:10 a.m. #
  17. Put back "Log out of all accounts" in the main menu.
Or at least make a setting that controls where to have it.

  18. NT, even after restart order doesn't change.

  20. Dmitry, that's the correct display. The order is reversed in the toolbar button's menu, while the statusbar icon's menu shows the accounts in the same order as the account manager.

  24. The extension works fine on Firefox 4 beta. There's just no point in updating it whenever a beta comes out. The next release will be available when Firefox 4 is released.

  30. A suggestion: I use a Wireless connection to connect to the internet. Often when I wake up I'll turn on the computer, wait a minute or two and then open Firefox.

Unfortunately, the wireless connector hasn't always gotten my computer hooked up to the internet. When this happens, I get a "can't connect to Mailbox:***" message as Firefox opens. After this it clears the log-in information. This is a nuisance in that it's often 5-6 months between me having to actually enter my email credentials. I usually have to re-attempt to sign in several times before getting the password right.

Would it be possible to change the plug-in so that it doesn't clear the information as soon as the internet connection is lost and instead auto-attempts to reconnect?
    by Jason Waters on Friday, 5 November 2010, 03:49 p.m. #
  31. In the next release, the extension will automatically reset the mail counter when you open a mailbox. It will also retry to log in without prompting for the password if the network is down.

  35. Gmail Checker. I have enabled the 'notify the same new message once only' but still it pops up every few minutes. Is it a bug?
    by Elvis on Tuesday, 23 November 2010, 06:18 p.m. #
  36. Mark, send me a debug log.

Elvis, 'notify once' was designed to work with sound notification only. In the next version, 'notify once' will apply to both popup and sound notification.

  37. to NT > Sorry I don't know how to create a debug log.

  38. Right-click on 'About...' to open the debug window and then log in to your accounts.
    by NT on Wednesday, 24 November 2010, 05:26 p.m. #
  39. Debug window is empty.
It will be problem with google, because they create now for all mails account, and your programm can't work with this more account probably, but I don't know.

  40. Hi,

I really like your extension but there is one little issue. There are no options to have it open in the already opened tab, instead it's default seems to be that it opens in a new tab. I do admit to having Tab Mix Plus extension installed as well and it is set up to open all links in a new tab but on your end you can write the script to override this sort of thing so it opens in the current/focused tab. Why would I ask such a thing? Well when it opens another account in a new tab and I forget to close the other one BOTH accounts are logged out and I have to restart the browser to get my password to work right again. It's a mess this way and quite annoying. Can you please add options to be set in the main Settings area??
    "Open in focused tab"
    Thanks so much
    by Richard A on Thursday, 25 November 2010, 06:35 p.m. #
  41. The default behaviour is to open in the existing tab. It's your setting with the other extension that overrides this.

A little suggestion, it will be very beautiful if you use gmail icons like this extension for chrome:

    Thank you!

  43. Would it be possible to turn off the naviation bar icon and only have this in the status bar? I like to limit the clutter in the upper bar if possible and I use yahoo mail notifier, stylish, greasmonkey, all in the status bar.

AKA Not all of us need the redundancy.

  46. ah, nvm. It is an issue with All in One Sidebar. Great extension btw, left gmail manager behind.

  47. i just migrated from gmail manager as its broke when trying to use multiple accounts.. thankfully this one works now.

the only thing i wish it had was capability to display an envelope for each account its tracking. this would enable a quick scan by eye to see if a specific account has email vs having to interact via mouse to check accounts.
