  2. Just another idea: in manage account window make an option for every mailbox, add counted unread mails to sum. (default yes for every acc.)

(I have some acconts which is not mine, for example my daughter's acc. Generally she just read her mails in the evening - she is just nine years old. When I right click the icon I could see she has mails or not, delete or just make mails as read, but not summarized and shows 0 unread mails for my acconts.)
This would be a nice feature.

    thanx

  5. Thanks for this plugin. I don't know if I've made this suggestion or not, but it would be a nice little change if the login popup had the cursor positioned in the password field, not the username field.

  6. Another feature request for this nice little tool: When I hit the middle button (this could be configurable) the add-on should recheck the connected accounts for any new mails.

And another one: moving the mouse over the icon should show some part of the unread mail(s) of the top account.

    Thank you!

  7. The 2-step verification is not working.
I have generated an application specific password but cannot check email. It constantly asks for "SMS verification code"
    by T81 on Sunday, 18 December 2011, 10:43 am #
  8. T81, you need to enter the SMS verification code Google has sent you. That's the point of 2-step verification.

  9. I have 2 accounts. One with 2-step verification and other don't. This extension works fine in the first minutes but after a while just open the first account and block the 2nd one. I don't understand why? It is because just one is 2-step verification? Any help please?

  10. Hi NT,
I'm using the code google sent me, but no luck.
    I'm using firefox 5.0.1
    The procedure is the following.
    1) Under "Manage accounts" I add an account.
    2) I'm entering my User Name and my account password.
    3) I've created an application-specific password and I'm filling with it the appropriate field in Gmail checker.
    4) While checking mail I get "Enter the SMS verification code into the password filed" so I enter the code google sent me, but no luck...
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

  11. Great addon.

However, I recently added 2 step verification, after seeing strange activity on my account, and Gmail checker is unable to fetch mail on the email address with 2 step verification once I set up an application specific password. There is no way I can use Checker without using an application specific password(I'm unable to check my text for verification code every time I open Firefox!)
Please create a fix so that I can check mail on my account that uses application specific password. Thank you !!

  12. Here and now it works 100%. The problem that I mentioned above was because I always logout my account instead of closing the tab.
It works fine with 2 step verification or without it.
I will try to help in translating to Portuguese (PT-pt) :)

  13. Opening two different acocunts in a single session causes me to get logged out when I launch Firefox the next time? If this is a feature I fail to see the benefit for using your extension. Please tell me you're working on fixing it.

FYI: I used to use Doron Rosenberg's Gmail Notifier but had to find another extension when Google's constant changes forced him to halt development. I was really hoping your addon would be a good replacement but now I'm really not sure it is.

  14. How Can I Delete This "Gmail Checker Version 2.6.1 When It's Not Even In My Change Programs & Features In The Control Panel ?

  16. Using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, just got Firefox 9.10.

Previously, when using the Gmail Checker there was a little envelop icon in the bottom right of the screen. I could right-click that envelope to read mail, open mailbox and stuff. But now there's no envelope.

The add-on still tells me when a new email arrives. But the lack of the other functionality really sucks.

Any work-around, or fix in the pipeline? Cheers, martin.

  17. Is there a way to disable the mail check for some accounts? What I really need is an "account switcher" not necessarily a mail checker. This is the best thing for it I could find but would be nice to avoid the checking emails on all the different accounts.

  20. Any possibility of a 'Mark All as Read' button, that iterates all unread messages and sends the 'Mark as Read' command?

Also, seconding the middle click = Check mail now.
by GR on Saturday, 18 February 2012, 02:48 am #
  21. Never mind, just saw the 'Apply to All' option. Dedicated button would be nice, though.

  22. Something else I noticed:

if gmail isn't available, the icon just keeps 'loading'. Is it possible to put a timeout on the feed check?

  23. How can I export my mail setting off course with passwords? Is it possible to view passwords somehow?

  24. It's a pleasure to contribute with gmail checker with a translation. So, how can I work with the PT version? Should I copy the files to somewhere?
    Thanks.

  26. Yeah I've got your translation. Thanks, Klaus.

  27. Would it be possible to have Gmail Checker's settings be syncable now that Firefox 11 can sync addons?

  28. You needn't notify me about new mails every time i open a popup window. (My employer's intranet site has many popups.)

  29. Please add support for the option "Stay signed in" on the https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin
After each restart of my Firefox, I have logged out Google account.

  30. It's broken on Mac Snow Leopard, the account manager dialog window won't stay open and it will not maintain account info.
by nomad on Wednesday, 11 April 2012, 01:17 am #
  31. Nomad, your gmailchecker.sqlite file probably got corrupted. Try deleting it. Unfortunately, this will remove all your saved accounts and settings.
