Well alive
Tue, 5 Dec 2006
Hey, long time! School work has eaten up all of my time recently. I'm going to have Christmas break in a fortnight though, so you may expect some updates for the scripts. I've planned to roll out a new version for the calendar script first to fix some current stupid bugs.
Good day

It's been a while since my last post 'cause there's just nothing news worthy, lol. It's also "back to school" time so I'm sort of busy as well.
I don't think many people have taken advantage of the built-in BBCode feature of the news script. Oh, well... anyway I'm going to show some examples here.
Everyone loves clippy (forgot the image's source).
Yep, it's HTML and JavaScript code written directly in the post.
( You can embed a Flash movie as well. )
The [more] tag I've implemented is also more flexible than those "short story" and "full story" on some other news/blog scripts since you can hide partial contents anywhere inside the post. It's sort of similar to the LiveJournal's <lj-cut> if you know what I mean.
Note: (14/9/06) (18/9/06)
For anyone who's using the Gmail Checker extension for Firefox, you should upgrade to version 1.0.2, which fixes a problem that makes the login dialog not be updated after you've logged into your account. This was caused by the page source of Gmail being changed recently. version 1.0.3 fixes a few more bugs, you should download it instead.
URLs reformatted

Well, have you noticed any changes on my website? Yeah, the news script can now output friendly URLs as well. Have a look at the demo page for more examples. The script's control panel is also pretty much complete. You may expect version 1.3 to be available some time next week.
Yesterday, my host went through some crazy mode, gah..
Just to let you know

I've been working on version 1.3 of the news script. For anyone who expected to have a multi-user system as I wrote in its roadmap before, too bad, I lied. I'll be focused on making it for personal use only.
Some new features which have been implemented so far are locking posts and custom publishing date. The spell checker is work in progress, though. The final bit I want to implement is making the links search engine friendly, e.g. "2006/7/my-post/" instead of "?post=1234".
Also I've found this spell checker, but for some reasons, I don't like it.
Yo, summer!

It's time to watch some cartoons.
Those Spurs fans surely have a lot of time to collect these about us, but I found this particularly funny :))

4 exams done, 1 more to come this Friday and I'll be on summer vacation.
I've been playing with AJAX lately to make an IRC client but parsing IRC messages is hella annoying.
You should check out the upcoming CSS3. It's sweet.
Quick notice

Please don't post "testing" comments. The demo is used to show how to integrate the news script into an existing website, not for testing purpose. I'm tired of deleting all the testing nonsense.

Best comment on Slashdot that I've found this week related to this article, originally from here.

I'm back! Big thumbs down to my old host.
You might notice that I've removed other scripts except the News script, 'cuz they're quite dated and the code's kinda ugly. I'll put up their new versions if I have time.
We are in the Champions League final. Good stuff!
