Firefox's Gmail Checker version 1.2

Gmail Checker version 1.2 is now available. The sound notification bug was fixed at last. I've also added a debug window (see screenshot) so that you can see what the extension's doing in the background. From now on if you want to report any problems, please include the debug messages* as well. You can download it directly from my website (here). It should be available at addons.mozilla.org in a few days.

Hey, long time! I've got over my laziness to release beta3 of the Gmail checker extension. The new feature added is sound notification although Firefox has refused to play any wav file on my machine except the stupid beep.

New version of the Gmail Checker extension is available now, though I've made it as a beta release first since there were some significant changes. It now uses the new SQL storage of Firefox2 to keep the configuration information, and you can also mark a mail as spam via the extension instead of going to Gmail. The latter feature was implemented to save me some seconds going to Gmail just to report spam.

News script bug fixes and OpenID planning

It's 24^th Dec, and here is the patch for version 1.3.2 of the news script. If you haven't ever used the custom publishing date feature or bothered about W3C HTML standard compliance, you wouldn't notice the problems :P The concept of OpenID is so interesting that I'll probably implement it in the next major version of the news script, say 2.0, to provide multi-user support. I have already written a basic OpenID client, just for testing purposes. You can try it out here in case you're curious.

I've just released a new version of the calendar script, v2.2.0 particularly, with lots of bug fixes. Give it a try if you've been using older versions. There are some new settings in the config.php file as well, so make sure that you read it carefully. There are no big changes in the format of data.txt and style.css, so you can keep your current files.

Hey, long time! School work has eaten up all of my time recently. I'm going to have Christmas break in a fortnight though, so you may expect some updates for the scripts. I've planned to roll out a new version for the calendar script first to fix some current stupid bugs.

Firefox extension: GMail Checker

Currently available Gmail manager extensions for Firefox don't work as I like so I wrote another GMail Checker. It works with Firefox v1.5 up to 2.0. Well, technically, it should work with older versions as well, but these contents.rdf files make me sick so I dropped support for those legacy versions.

Well, have you noticed any changes on my website? Yeah, the news script can now output friendly URLs as well. Have a look at the demo page for more examples. The script's control panel is also pretty much complete. You may expect version 1.3 to be available some time next week.
